Last night our RLE 5th & 6th Grade All-Star Game at Berkner HS brought the energy as Team Fire 🔥 faced off against Team Ice 🧊 in an exciting showdown! The stands were packed with parents and families cheering loudly, and our Rockette Cheerleaders kept the spirit high on the sidelines all night long! After an incredible game, Team Ice took home the gold, but every single player left it all on the court! We are so beyond proud of these athletes and the hard work, dedication, and growth they showed throughout the entire season! A huge thank you to Berkner High School for allowing us to use your gym and helping create such a special experience for our students. #BlackHistoryMonth was a powerful month of learning, celebration, and honoring the legacy and impact of Black Americans, past, present & future! From the incredible “Change Sings” performance at @RLErockets1 to the inspiring living museums at @StultsRoadElem, students brought history to life. Creativity was on full display with door decorating at O.Henry ES & @bhsstem represented with pride at the African American Heritage Bowl. Thank you to our students and staff for creating spaces where all voices are uplifted & excellence is celebrated 🖤

I am SO BEYOND proud of my 6th graders for their performance tonight!! They blew everyone away and it was so special! Seeing this group from when they were in 1st grade to where they are now just makes my heart so happy and i’m truly going to miss them so much next year! 💛

Our RLE 6th graders absolutely left it all on the stage tonight for their final elementary school program, “Change Sings” under the direction of Mr. Kirk & Ms. Hatfield! From the very first note to the final bow, they performed with heart, confidence, and so much pride. This program celebrated 100 years of Black history through music and storytelling, inspired by the powerful message of Change Sings by Amanda Gorman, and our students truly brought that message to life. They sang boldly, spoke clearly, supported one another, and reminded all of us that their voices matter. It was more than a performance, it was a celebration of growth, courage, and the impact they can make in the world! We are so proud of this group and the way they represented RLE tonight.
