Thoughts on Scott Laughton… Have to move him now. Love the guy. He made sense to acquire last year. Things are different now. This team needs change. Toronto has Laughton on a salary retained deal - if you can’t make the playoffs with Laughton making $1.5m, I have no reason to believing paying him 2-3x as much betters our chances. He’s almost 32. Have to be real about his trajectory. Wish things had been different. Wish Berube would have at least experimented with how Laughton is deployed this season. Didn’t happen. You’re pretty much guaranteed to eat it on his return compared to what you paid. Market is way different this year. Such is life.
