@UniRdg_CeLM @BDAdyslexia I do not think using Survey Monkey is an ethical research tool when surveying dyslexic adults, as it is not accessible to all print disabilities. Maybe researching how to engage dyslexic adults could be a starting point.

Henry Winkler’s dyslexia has been “a lifelong learning challenge,” he tells the Book Review. “When my children were younger, I could not read them the bedtime story. My wife, Stacey, read those books aloud, and I acted them out. That was my job.” nyti.ms/3FvbmGq

Another great IDA conference, always good to see my fellow board members and some old friends. Great movie by Harvey Hubble and his team. Also great to become an Orton Oak after 25 years. #dyslexia

🧵We've heard of some LAs asking parents to arrange educational psychologist reports as part of an EHC needs assessment Remember, if an LA agrees to carry out an EHC needs assessment it must carry it out at its own cost. It can't ask you/school to do it or pay for any part of it

As an advocate for dyslexia, I welcome the removal of 9% VAT on ebooks & audio books in #Budget2024 Many children, young people & adults with dyslexia benefit greatly from audio & ebooks. This is a small but important measure @DyslexiaIreland

Very wise words from Jackie Stewart, dyslexia is not an 'advantage' for everyone. For many of the dyslexic I work with it's debilitating, depressing and riddles you with anxiety. #dyslexia

Neurodiversity is the new SPLD label of the 1990s. Pointless for the dyslexic community unless you have something to sell. I asked 40 postgraduate students what Neurodiversity means to them. Only 2 knew what Neurodiversity was. Great term for autism, but does not relate to dyslexics.theguardian.com/world/2023/jul… @dyslexia
