You’re as unlikely to buy the top of something trending up as you are to sell the top of something trending up

@adamscochran It’s the same logic as to why Putin would never withdraw from Ukraine

This is what the US and mediators have failed to grasp. Iran has, from the start, been willing to engage diplomatically. We know this because they signed a deal under Obama and were almost done one under Trump before he started bombing. BUT: * We shattered all trust and good faith as negotiators by bombing them during the process, so naturally the minimum stakes are higher. * They have core asks which they will not abandon, and that are somewhat reasonable to everyone except the US. The reality is a lot of what they are asking for is table stakes under international law (clear end to strikes, rebuilding support, stabilization funding, etc) The only major ask that the US has no interest in is Iran having tolling sovereignty over the Strait. Which is not standard under international norms, and would raise inflation if they get their $2M per ship - but is not entirely unreasonable and could be negotiated to a lower rate. The reality is, Iran has long agreed to not pursue a nuclear weapon if they got a deal. And the US has long signalled willingness to ease sanctions - hell they already eased sanctions just to help the price of oil! The sticking point here, really isn’t Iran. It’s Trump’s ego. He’s backed himself into a corner, where any Iranian sovereignty over the Strait is a defeat, and any US payments and security guarantees to Iran look weak - because of his own rhetoric. Iran has been beaten down and destabilized, to the point they don’t have much left economically, or to maintain long term security. So when there is nothing left to lose, of course they will cling to the basic reasonable asks as the bare minimum. So all reporting on “willingness to engage in peace talks” is not progress. It’s the exact line they’ve been on since the start. And that’s why these negotiations are going no where. Iran has no reason to budge, and Trump has no ability to.

This is being a market maker vs degenerate gambler
Goaty@goatyishere

did this guy find a cheat code on polymarket? win rate 99.6% | total gains +$14 437 | total losses $0 profile: @ZhangMuZhi-?via=goaty" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">polymarket.com/@ZhangMuZhi-?v… how does he do it? he simply buys shares on "almost certain" outcomes at 0.95-0.99$ and calmly waits for the market to resolve then each share turns into exactly $1 profit per trade is small (1-5%), but he makes thousands of such trades everything he earns he immediately reinvests back this is the magic of compounding: small percentages on huge volume + reinvest = exponential growth
