30 years coming into Kehoes on the 27th (Covid notwithstanding). Meeting pals, supping pints. A pleasure.

@realBobbyHealy @lorcanmcardle Luas is at capacity . Traffic is a mess in the area . Infrastructure can't handle current population never mind more . The old Dundrum centre should be used to develop a village square . Give Dundrum it's village back . By all means build apartments but at ab appropriate scale

@dmcambrois @MarkLucan1 This is completley at DCC's door. I think urban Ireland (not just Dublin) has an odd relationship with the GAA. I think they take it for granted...matches bring in crowds etc but there is very little effort put in to maximise it or enhace the experience.

Two weekends in a row, nearly 100,000 people descending on Dublin for the All-Ireland Finals The highlight of the GAA calendar - yet no fan zone, no public screening, no family area, no real city-wide celebration Always feels like a huge missed opportunity #AllIrelandFinal #GAA

The plan to turn the GPO into retail and office space is disaster. We have ripped out enough buildings and turned them into retail and office space that looks like anywhere else in the planet. GPO should be a cultural centre. A space for artists to meet and create. #GPO

There are people calling for creation of an Irish DOGE. I have, of course, never once heard them call for strengthening of the FOI laws that up to now have been most responsible for bringing govt waste to light. It’s just more bullsh** culture war crap appropriated from the U.S.

@Mick_O_Keeffe Not a fair comparison. The children's hospital not a Greenfield site...had to dig down quite a lot in tight confines while keeping the existing hospital running. It will be by the end of it ridiculously expensive but no point comparing it with projects that are very different

@dmcambrois @KCsixtyseven There are very few bands I'd bother seeing in a big stadium, much prefer vicar street, whelans etc. . Sound is much better and you can actually see the band . you are not just watching tv. Having said that I have had some great evenings standing in a field watching great bands .

Standing in a field to watch a band on a video screen because they're so far away and with crap sound. That'll be 400 yoyos. Will never get the appeal. Good luck to those who enjoy it. Give me Vicar Street, the Olympia, Workman's Club...

@Dominiho7 And yet they make millions from these big shows. They consistently fail to provide a service that is fit for purpose for shows with big demand..despite the fact they can control when that demand comes. #Ticketmaster ...bring back the days of queueing in person!

I think we all need to agree #Ticketmaster is not fit for purpose as a website. This happens everytime they get some sort of demand event. They'll come out and lie after and say they didn't realise there was going to be so much demand #Shambles

@PlayerGaelic I am finding it one of more difficult aspects to get right at u14 level. You have inside forwards who just are drawn to the ball all the time...then alternatively others who make great runs and understanding spacing but the ball isn't coming in or is coming in too late.

I’m revisiting this to urge coaches to think more about where inside forwards start runs and not just about the runs themselves. County football and club minor/junior/senior football is different, but inside players still exist in U14/15/16 games. Players enjoy experimenting.

Moved into a new (old) house a few weeks ago. Lots to do, getting hot water, heating working, furniture moved etc. However at least we have the priority items sorted. Thanks to @MMurphySports for the quick delivery!

@byrne_padraig @fleadhcheoil I should add the scale of the fleadh this year was off the charts compared to previous years. Hats off to the organisers.

@byrne_padraig @fleadhcheoil Great fleadh brilliant organisation..but not enough pub sessions on. Pubs more interested in paying bands to play. Musicians travel from all over the country to play in sessions at the fleadh. Didn't seem to be catered for enough. #Fleadh24

A small negative of @fleadhcheoil is the Dome. It’s too far out of the action & once inside, it’s hard to see and hard to hear. A poor enough venue unless you happen to be sitting right in front of the stage. Not that that takes away from an amazing week in #Wexford #Fleadh24

Heading to Wexford for @fleadhcheoil . Where are the best places for sessions? Hearing that a lot of places have paid bands on so musicians struggling to find places to play. #Fleadh24

@mar2vickers @Cathal_Dennehy ...and Femke Bol looked a little out of sorts this evening, too. Distressed that she only got a Bronze, & appearing to curse her 3rd placing. Her final 80 metres this evening quite substandard for her, compared to her turbocharged Gold anchor leg in team event a few nights ago.

@ciananbrennan Some dodgy estate agents around. We were bidding on a house down to the last two. Estate agent then dropped in the info that in three months time . that then drove bidding up again. Turns out it was a lie..the date of vacancy wasn't for another 6 months

Buying a house is a difficult enough prospect without finding out it's been sold to someone else. For one Dublin estate agent, it appears to be standard practice... Buyers left in lurch after ‘sale-agreed’ homes sold to others irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4145…

Loving the Olympics coverage @RTEsport but I wish you wouldn't commentate over the medal presentations. Let us hear the stadium announcers introduce the athletes and the crowd reaction. It would be nice to get a sense of the atmosphere

@Camogiecoach @PlayerGaelic My experience in Dublin is that it is still happening at u14..not as often as u13 ..but we have had games down in div 9/10 etc where opposition are clearly playing lads from their div 2/3 teams and winning by 30+ points ..really benefits nobody.

@PlayerGaelic My experience in Dublin is that the grading at U13 tends to work. Coaches choose a division at U13 and grading games happen. If a team is getting walloped they drop down. If a team is hammering others, they go up. By U14, certainly U15 everyone has found their level.

Should we have a 10-point win rule in underage games? Once the margin between teams reaches double digits, the game is won and the victors must play all subs from that point on? Rotate the starting players too. In four U14 games last night, the win margins were 14/18/26/38.

@Seamus60 @hughcahill7 Some of that is cultural though and not necessarily down to how cities are run. Japanese people simply don't litter as much. I don't know if it's a greater civic mentality but they tend to follow the rules

Paris. 2.1 million people, a bin on the street every 50 metres, emptied regularly. Next to no rubbish, or litter, on the streets. Dublin is an embarrassment in comparison. Just an observation
