@lucasjmaxwell So true! School libraries are a safe space for so many children, where they support them beyond just the classroom. 💙

On the first day back after a long break I always remind myself that as anxiety-inducing as it may be to me, some students may not have had a great experience away from school. Being back in the #library can be a huge relief for many, it can be the safe space they are missing.

@Janeelessthan3 @_stephaniehoyt A great point! 💙 Every student deserves the same opportunity. Audiobooks, alongside eBooks with great accessibility features for kids with disabilities and different learning styles, open the world of reading to many more students.

@_stephaniehoyt I think the problem for school is still one of accessibility. My schools population is 1/2 kids with disabilities and different neurotypes. We have a library of books on cds and audiobooks online that are accessible for everyone while we still pull small groups for visual reading

@Beth25040 💛 This is so true. Audiobooks and coloured overlays can make a big difference for kids who struggle with print.

Too many children are: – Beaten for poor school performance – Shamed publicly – Misunderstood at home and school How to help a child with dyslexia? – Be patient. – Use phonics-based learning. – Read aloud with them. – Use colored or audiobooks. – Get professional evaluation
