@JonTronShow @Mike_Matei Up = down,
easy = hard,
And using cheats is no different from beating it the normal way 👶
English

@Mike_Matei I 100% agree on this and I don’t understand why it’s considered some “hot take”. People hide behind arguments like “just let people play how they want” to excuse mediocrity. There has to be SOME standard, even if the game design is considered archaic by today’s standards.
English

@VGArtAndTidbits This is a reaction from the sekiro drama where some fans got upset with a journalist using cheats to beat it. They're putting you in the same category as those angry fans, which is unreasonable
English

@eRKSToCK Yup. Even after I even said I use them. I don't hold it against anyone that uses them.
English

@VGArtAndTidbits It's not you lol, we're talking about save-scumming and using cheats - ofc it's not the same as beating it the og way

@eRKSToCK @KirbyTheBlue @ArmadaUGS In theory, yes. But I'd want to know if the better player wins at a rate similar to or even lower than chars with comeback mechanics (like Lucario, for example). If the argument is "does skill prevail" we need to compare it to existing situations where that gets muddied.
English

@KirbyTheBlue @AkuSlayer @TNG_RK @ArmadaUGS I was talking about it from the perspective of upsets and win rates. Rps mechanics does trivialize neutral play
English

@AkuSlayer @TNG_RK @KirbyTheBlue @ArmadaUGS Tbh it's not strictly about RNG. The same effect can happen with characters that have 50/50's that force you to guess - they're also "random"
You can measure this by how much top players consistently struggle with a char more than others
English

@TNG_RK @KirbyTheBlue @ArmadaUGS It's not just "does the better player win more often" - say the better player usually wins 80% of matches against normal characters, but 60% of matches against chars with heavy rng (regardless of matchup) because of unpredictability
Heavy rng will basically cause more upsets
English

@KirbyTheBlue @ArmadaUGS Except the issue is, if we agree on the question (does the better player win more often vs Hero), we can make the answer at least a little more objective... By waiting for more data. Or really, any data. Cuz right now it's just top players trashing people with a new char.
