@PurpyNFL I promise it wasn't. It didn't compare to Scott's Gladiator but no one else's did. The actual terrible movie was Alexander; Troy's duels were legendary, Kruger and Byrne were stunning, and other than being a casualty to early blue-ray it was a perfect theatre and home movie.

@k_lyons55 @SensCentral The point is that he's already producing DB's number on a harder line playing against tougher opponents in a harder position. I think your numbers are outdated, and I again disagree that players who can't play defensive assignments are not "needed."

@DefenseMinister In his entire tenure with the team DB has never owned a line; he is an additive player on his best nights. When Bath is out of the lineup the team doesn't hurt for his production which points to him being the beneficiary of those systems (PP, OZ starts) rather than the driver.

If we're talking strictly contract comparables, Drake Batherson should have a significantly higher AAV than Pinto. Batherson has 4 straight years of 60-70 points (increasing each season) and Pinto has never cracked 50. Points are what you get paid on.

I think Batherson’s comparable has to be Pinto, not Stützle or Tkachuk. Is Batherson more valuable to the Sens than Pinto? Feel like somewhere around $7.5M - $8M is the sweet spot on a long term deal.

@k_lyons55 @SensCentral Their 5v5 stats this last season are the same the whole way down, with DB scoring more than SP but he plays with Stutzle and Cozens not Amadio on a checking line. Pinto can play on PP1 but DB can't play on a PK. DB is also a winger...

Talking to a therapist led to him needing to take off *months* from his responsibilities. He was with her for 4 years and he got worse, not better.
In no way is this a success story or something anybody should want to emulate- and it doesn't make you a bad person for noticing.

Doing some work on this season's yearbook vid and I had completely forgot that Halliday had so many missed opportunities before his first NHL goal; I had expected to see Timmy miss a bunch (I'm like at two dozen already) but Big Red could have had a Yak-like debut, easily. #sens

This was what it was like watching the Sens play this year. Literally all 3 players. Only difference is the shot of the guys on the bench would have included Travis Green yelling at Matinpalo (Manti wasn't even on the ice for this play). #gosensgo

@jackrichrdson With Manti proving/learning he can play 2nd line D minutes, on his offside no less, this season I think the depth issues are largely addressed with Yak being able to step in during injuries. The question is does Steve gamble on internal growth again to address the sens scoring

Zub, Spence, Matinpalo, Yak is very solid RHD depth for a team that has built its blueline around Sanderson and Chabot.
Spence, like a bunch of other pieces of this team, are only moved in a package for a significant upgrade IMO.

I don’t like the idea of trading Jordan Spence for the Sens. He is a solid, young, 2-way, right shot defender that fits in on any pairing he is put on. The second you trade him you now need to find a new Top 4 RHD. #SignSpence

@aaronnolan77 @jackrichrdson Klev hits and fights more when he has Matinpalo as a partner and that's in large part because no one fights Manti. He popped Brady in the mouth during 4N... he's a huge deterrent.
