@DrHistoryBrad Someone on here (I forget who) pointed out it came out a few months before the pandemic, so her terrified look while exercising alone at home was showing us the future.

Remember that awful Peloton commercial from a few Christmases ago? I wonder what happened to the marketing person who pitched it. Like, they had to have gotten fired, right? Probably a career-ender.

I'm incredibly proud and excited to announce that my first book, on women's labor in French film archives and libraries, is officially under contract with University of California Press @ucpress! I couldn't be more thrilled to get to work with their editors extraordinaires!

Adding my current read to this thread. A delightfully candid book, one that would not have happened without Brownlow nudging the author to tell her life story.

One of the most essential volumes of Hollywood history. Curious: what do my history friends consider to be their absolute must-have books on Hollywood history? Rosten, Ramsaye, Powdermaker, Thorpe, what else? There is always room for more discoveries!

@chrisyogerst Go West, young women (Hilary Hallett) and Never Done (Erin Hill) are two of my favorites. I love all the books in this pile.

Brock’s manager of Grounds Services sometimes runs workshops (gardening workshops and stuff) and this year he is doing a rare plants walk on campus. I am giddy with excitement! He runs the best workshops.

It has been 2 years since faculty and staff were unjustly terminated at Laurentian University. Today, tell the federal government it's time to reform the CCAA and BIA so this never happens again. ocufa.on.ca/neverhappenaga… #cdnpse #cdnpoli #canlab

In today's budget, the provincial government failed to meaningfully invest in universities, which faculty warn may lead to more privatization and instability for students, faculty, and staff on campuses. ocufa.on.ca/press-releases…
