My day went like this: How was your day?

Today at the Main Campus Library, Kampala International University (KIU), in partnership with the National Association of Social Workers of Uganda (NASWU), proudly celebrated World Social Work Day 2026 under the global theme Co‑Building Hope and Harmony. We were honored to hear from Dr. Moses Senkosi Balyejjusa, President of NASWU, and Dr. Jacob Eneji Ashibi, KIU Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs), who reminded us that the strength of every society lies in diversity—and for harmony to prevail, no one should be left behind. The day featured keynote addresses, panel discussions on contemporary social issues, networking sessions, internship collaboration presentations, and roundtable discussions on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence in higher education. Some of the universities in attendance included: KIU, Bugema University, Nkumba University, University of Kisubi, Kyambogo University, Avance International University, Islamic University in Uganda, and Metropolitan University. We were also joined by representatives from Child 1 and Bantwana, further enriching the dialogue on advancing social justice and strengthening communities. #ExploringTheHeights #WorldSocialWorkDay
