We had a very good meeting at Wellcome Trust, London, bringing together all investigators & institutions that were awarded funding to study correlates of Immunity. Ours is on Marburg with Jennifer Serwanga (PI), Violet Akunda, Joseph Ssebwana Katende & Beth Mutumba @UNCST_Uganda

A team from the @DKinUganda embassy visited the @UVRIug campus and were hosted by the director Prof @KaleebuPontiano who shared about the history of UVRI and the various projects currently in running on the campus.

UVRI is open to strengthening collaborations that seek to promote our national obligation in health research in the region and beyond. The day concluded with a dinner which was graced by both uganda ambassador to Denmark and Denmark ambassador to uganda.

BREAKING: Uganda's National Drug Authority has just approved Lenacapavir, a twice-yearly dose PrEP manufactured by Gilead, a USA based company! This is a game-changer for HIV prevention, especially for those at high risk. This is great step towards ending AIDS by 2030.
