It has been 7 years since Howard W. Jones Jr. MD passed away at 105. A giant like no other and the "father" of IVF in the US, Dr. Jones combined innumerable skills. From Reproductive surgery, to reproductive science, to IVF, he had no peers. He will always be sorely missed.

It has been 6 months since we lost Max Cleland, a Vietnam veteran whose physical and mental losses can hardly be described. I befriended Max at Brown University. The quote shown is from Max' book “Strong at The Broken Places.” We stayed in touch. Now we are all inconsolable.

Delighted to post a recent paper co-authored with I. Glenn Cohen (Harvard Law School) on the evolving matter of human embryo research. The paper saw press in Nature Biotechnology. A challenging proposition.

Delighted to post the latest publication of ours with @CohenProf (Harvard Law School). This is the story of the LDTs (Laboratory-Developed Tests) and how they were handled by the Trump and Biden Administrations. Most notably, integrity of the LDTs in question was restored.

Delighted to post our latest JAMA Viewpoint on the approval and oversight of SARS-CoV-2 Laboratory-Developed Tests. Co-authored with @CohenProf (Harvard Law), the paper details the conflicting approaches of the current and former administration. A sobering story.

Delighted to post a recent contribution now in press with the American Journal of Medicine. Co-authored with I. Glenn Cohen (Harvard Law), the paper deals with the sobering fact that health care fraud is the leading violation of the False Claims Act. We can and should do better.

Delighted to post a recent paper of ours co-authored with Nicole M. Thomasian and Carsten Eickhoff. Published in the Journal of Public Health Policy, the paper deals with the all-important matter of Health Equity and the role of AI in this context.

Pleased to post a recent contribution on the genetic backdrop of central reproductive failure. Led by a distinguished contingent of Polish scholars, the paper delves into the fine genetic intricacies of the hypothalamic-pituitary unit. A long overdue indeed timely update.

Delighted to posy our latest contribution on the all-important matter of Transparency and the Doctor-Patient Relationship. Co-authored with Jacob Elberg (Seton Hall Law) and @CohenProf (Harvard Law), the paper explores a rethinking of the Conflict-of-Interest Disclosures.

Co-authored with Dr. Vishal Kheptal and James Roosevelt, Jr, this paper attempts to develop the notion of a federal Indian health insurance plan for American Indians and Alaska natives. Efforts along these lines deserve our ongoing collective attention.

It is only fitting that 40 years after the birth of Elizabeth Jordan Carr, the first IVF baby to have been born in the US, that the future of IVF be revisited. Co-authored with Gary Smith and Vitaly Kushnir, the paper explores what may be in store for this leading technology.

Delighted to post our latest paper on the National Pandemic Preparedness Program. Published in JAMA, the paper, co-authored with @CohenProf (Harvard Law), describes the challenges involved in future pandemic planning & the mixed record of prior efforts along these lines.

Delighted to post a recent publication with the Am J of Med. Co-authored with @CohenProf (Harvard Law), the paper highlights the all important role of antiviral therapeutics in the taming of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Recent progress aside, more potent therapeutics are called for.

Our latest with Katina M Robison (Brown University) and @CohenProf (Harvard Law). Written in honor of Amy J. Reed, MD, PhD whose tragic premature passing due to a Leiomyosarcoma of the Uterus was universally mourned. Current morcellation practices preclude such outcome.

Delighted to post our latest paper on Gender Nondiscrimination under the Affordable Care Act. Co-authored with Alex Rosenthal, Paul George, and Elizabeth Tobi-Tyler, the paper describes the all-important permutations of this facet of the ACA and the significance thereof.
