@johnknightleeds @christopher_dtn @netdiscs @anon_opin Even 2 x 37.5% alcohol at 700ml would be 525ml of alcohol. 6 bottles of wine would be 540-580 depending on wine. Unless OP was drinking sherry? Then 5 bottles would be about same as 2 bottles of spirits.

Going through 2 bottles of vodka a week would be seen as a pretty worrying sign of a problem drinker, but having 5 bottles of wine a week is somehow sophisticated, and almost something to be laughed about or celebrated. It's the same amount of alcohol.
