#FloraandFauna The species of laughing thrush are known to be social & vocal creatures that treasure residing in dense forests. Amongst a few other regions, this wonderful little variety of birds can be found in the Eagle Nest Wildlife Sanctuary in #ArunachalPradesh.

In January 2005, Ramana Athreya, an astrophysicist, caught a glimpse of Bugun Liocichla, but he didn't publicise it until he was convinced that it was a new breed of species. Athreya identified the new species in the Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary of #ArunachalPradesh, in 2006.

The elusive #IndianMuntjac has been spotted by BSI official Shri @sanjayuki at Eagle Nest Wildlife Sanctuary in West Kameng district. Muntjac is a small, brown deer which is also known as the "barking deer" due to the deep bark-like sounds they make when on alert.

A striped-throated yuhina is a beautiful bird with an upswept crest along with black and orange panels on the wings. This one was spotted in the Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary, West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh by @BorthakurUdayan. #FloraandFaunaofArunachal

One wild baby elephant was spotted with its family near the foothills of @eaglenestwls, Doimara Region, Arunachal Pradesh on 20th of Feb. These sightings are testimonial to the fact that #ArunachalPradesh is a safe haven for the proliferation of such majestic faunal diversity.

An Environmental Awareness tour of Poma Panchayat youth sponsored by Sh @NatungMama HM (EF&CC) and Sh @KumsiSidisow, Advisor to HM (EF&CC) visited @eaglenestwls. Sh B. Darang, DFO briefed the youths on the joint community conservation efforts of Deptt. and local Bugun community.

The officers were briefed on the community conservation practiced in Eaglenest. They also learned about ecotourism and Eco development model of Eaglenest through interaction with forest officers and community members living in the fringe of Eaglenest.

16 in-service Range Officers from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Andhra Pradesh were in Eaglenest WLS on 12-13 Feb to learn the successful conservation model of Eaglenest. The officers were accompanied by Dr Abhijit Das, scientist from @wiiofficial1

The first edition of Bugun Liocichla Utsav which is being organised to commemorate 15 years of discovery of the 20-cm songbird with olive-grey plumage and a black cap was inaugurated by Hon Environment and Forest Minister Shri @NatungMama Ji on 11.10.2021 at @eaglenestwls.
