.@itskyleconner makes some good points that the Cybercab is (obviously) designed for autonomous driving, and not manual driving: "It would be kind of bad to drive because you have massive A-pillars. The windshield doesn't come up very high. You sit way too far back, so clearly this is not designed to be a driven vehicle. I thought maybe the early ones would ship with a steering wheel. You're not driving this thing with A-pillars like that."

I went to the exact same location of the Cybertruck accident shown in the Fox News video. This is the US-69/59 Eastex Freeway northbound HOV lane at the Y-split near the Eastex Park & Ride exit (approaching from downtown Houston toward Humble). In the Fox News video, the vehicle failed to follow the right curve, going straight into the barrier.
Well, I tested it twice today with Tesla FSD engaged the entire time with zero human intervention. And unless you think I am a hologram speaking to you from another dimension now, it worked out really well. Here is the video of me taking the exact same curve twice, with Tesla FSD v14.2.2.5.

@wholemars Elon and his companies are my litmus test to people for sanity and intelligence. I simple ask, “tell me your thoughts on Elon”
Their response speaks volumes.

Shitting on Tesla for not having enough driverless Robotaxis at this point is like brushing off the moon landing because “they only did it once”.
They figured out how to make a car operate with NO DRIVER using 5 MEGAPIXEL CAMERAS. Do you not understand what that means? It means we can make every car on the road autonomous.
This is an incredible technical achievement that everyone said was impossible. And now the same morons who said it was impossible are faulting them for a safe and responsible rollout

@justinryanio 100% true. They went from my #1 to me not even checking them anymore years ago. They are anti-technology. More interested in politics and throwing shade.

The Verge has lost its way.
Several months ago, they interviewed me for 45 minutes about Apple Vision Pro. I spent 43 minutes talking about what I love, and 2 minutes on what I’d change.
They twisted parts of those 2 minutes and cut everything positive I said.
To make it worse, the author opened the interview by saying they were biased against headsets.
I miss the old Verge. The one that was fun. The one that spotlighted tech instead of throwing shade.

Nvidia’s DLSS 5 is like motion smoothing for video games, but worse theverge.com/entertainment/…

The reason we know dinosaurs existed, and were wiped out by an asteroid, is that no matter where you dig in the world, you’ll find a distinct layer of clay. All dinosaur fossils are found below this layer, and never above it! This layer has iridium that is very rare on earth but found in asteroids.
It is called K-T (Short for Cretaceous-Tertiary) boundary
