@RyanMorey @eanunez_ Nick goes to classes, writes research, hangs out with other grad students, does RA work, regularly gets confused with PhD students. I think it's not a huge stretch to call him 'basically a grad student without pay or title'

The notion that grad students can't make ends meet is absolutely ridiculous to me. I live a mile away from Harvard. I am essentially a grad student with no stipend and no support. I'm making it work. Why can't they? The people who this screws are me -- marginal admits.

@eanunez_ @RyanMorey you have been completely unable to articulate which variables actually matter here that would affect the conclusion in his argument, which only relies on his testimony about the cost of living in the area

@austinc3301 @RyanMorey i disagree, his argument isn’t equally valid. labor disputes are complex and involve variables that are difficult/impossible to quantify. many of those costs are inherent to being a member of the student body, a reality he cannot replicate without actually being part of it
