@JasminLaine_ Not exactly- roads and highways are all built by public - no investor wants to build them, their existence allows other investments to happen. That’s how it works. HSR is cheaper than car travel when you include the cost of roads and highways.

Very odd how the typical suspects are livid about a 90 billion, tax payer funded high speed rail project that might not go through. Shouldn’t they be more concerned as to why this has be funded by tax payers and not the private sector? Or even the individual provinces where it will operate? If there’s a market and economic benefit… surely, there would be investors desperate to launch the nations first… no?

There's a fair bit of noise about the husband of a US politician being embroiled in a "cross dressing controversy." Unless there was criminal activity, I don't see how this is relevant. I'm sure people are loving "dunking" on her... But really the families of political figures should be off limits. (again, not fully up on the whole "story" - if something criminal was done, that's different)

It’s frankly embarrassing, and an indictment of those that lead us, that gas prices in Canada have spiked to over $2 per litre because of a conflict on the other side of the world. We have, right here in Canada, the fourth largest oil reserves on the planet. Pipelines should have been built 10 years ago. Refineries should have been built 10 years ago. We should have an energy policy that puts Canada, and Canadians, first. This is ridiculous.
