ICE can't function without the private sector. Here are ICE's top corporate collaborators: Amazon/Whole Foods Target Palantir Every major hotel chain Home Depot Lowe’s AT&T Aramark Eastern Airlines Global X Omni Air Flock Systems Dell UPS FedEx Motorola Solutions LexisNexis Thompson Reuters We don't need vague calls to stop shopping at these places or one-off rallies — we need sit-ins, pressure campaigns, *organized* boycotts, employee and consumer petitions, sickouts, demands from elected officials, and non-violent disruption to force these companies to immediately break from ICE

(🚨) The four PROOF reports on Minneapolis—of which the last, just published, is below—have done all they can to exhaustively detail what happened there, why it happened, and why it’s the start of something worse. 🔗: sethabramson.substack.com/p/trump-admini… WARNING: Reader discretion advised.

Trump’s billionaire allies now control X, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Truth and Twitch. They own Fox News, CBS, WaPo, WSJ and NY Post — plus 185+ local tv stations and news in 100 markets. They control the AI you're asking for answers, the algorithms feeding you content, your personal data you've given up for access, and the devices you rely on. The news and your privacy are now what Trump and his billionaire pals say it is. This is all by design.

If you're a cartoonist, this is probably a good time to do a panel showing Jeffrey Epstein welcoming Trump into Hell. I mean, just in case. Always good to have something ready to run.

In 2016, my then-87YO father voted in his last election, for Hillary. He had prev. voted for every GOP candidate since Eisenhower. He didn’t like her at all, but saw right thru Trump. I’ll never understand how my slightly senile dad was smarter than the 2024 electorate.

@earinc is italy robust in the sense of satisfying a niche interest but small in scale compared to major market stuff printed elsewhere? i like the idea of smaller better print runs personally. books that satisfy 300 > ones that hit with 30,000 (admittedly i'm a critic not a bookseller)

@arpadokay Again, don't think it's that simple. Italy has a robust printing export industry that wasn't built on that model. Even China, where this would apply, is a country of 1.4 billion, which affords an economy of scale irrespective of predatory pricing via cheaper wages, etc.

@earinc yes but again the industry's ability to scale is because international infrastructure was built up based on its undercutting domestic costs

@arpadokay I really don't know how much labor costs are a factor. I'm sure it is a factor. But some of it is industrial scale, as well.

@earinc so is paper cheaper if you work in some countries rather than others, or is it a blanket issue raising the price everywhere? a cost one might offset by going where the labor costs less, for example

@arpadokay Paper seems cheaper seemingly everywhere (and options more varied) than in the U.S. (especially for any coated stocks like most GNs are printed on), be it Canada, Asia, or Europe.
