804 days ago I downloaded Duolingo with one simple desire. I wanted to move to Japan. I had no idea how I was actually going to make it happen at the time. All I did know was I had to start somewhere. I figured learning the language was a good first step. So I opened the app and started learning. Fast forward to today, and I’ve been living in Japan for over a year. With so many new experiences. That’s why it’s so important to take the first step. You don’t need to have everything figured out upfront. You’ll figure the rest out along the way. One daily thought can be the catalyst you need to get everything rolling. Changing your environment is the fastest way to change your thinking. Taking a language class here in Japan completely shifted my circle. New people brought new perspectives that sparked clarity I couldn't find alone. If you're feeling stuck, look at who you're talking to. A small shift in your environment might be the only "fuel" you're missing.

Before my diagnosis I didn't realize I was masking. I focused on success, sometimes at the cost of personal alignment. You can't have a successful life, if you are always living within other peoples ideals. Once you can break free and find what truly matters to you, a sense of peace will replace the anxiety.

No one talks about the intense pressure that people who've had early successes in their career place on themselves because now it’s the expectation that they continue to win at higher and higher levels. Blessing and a curse.

@Jayyanginspires This is why it's important to know who you are and where you are headed. The more clarity you have, the more you won't get distracted by noise. Once you hit that alignment you can focus living the life you want, and not what's expected from other.

The better you get, the more you can do. But just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. The paradox of success is the more successful you become the more opportunities you have to say no to.

@lynk0x Overthinking can be a skill if directed properly, and with safeguards. But most overthinking is useless before you begin. You won't get real data until you start. Then use your skill of overthinking for something productive.

While you’re overthinking. Someone dumber than you is getting rich by just acting.

@Codie_Sanchez Using time to leverage a skill is a great way to be a master at something. I would advise to focus on how that skill can be expanded also though. Last thing you want to becomes is outdated, because you couldn't adapt.

The easiest way to get ahead is just to do one thing. For years. While everyone around you chases shiny objects. You just keep building. Your ability to handle monotony is where all the money and opportunity is.

@_Sironyeka I always do my best to do what needs to be done. That's how I approach anything I take on. Be the you that is required, and everything else will take care of itself.

You can’t even handle 2K followers… but you want 50K. Be honest can you handle it? Can you reply to 400 comments a day?

@edgaralandough This is great way to set yourself up for success. You don't have to wait for the new year to start the new you. All it takes is today, and the will to be better then yesterday.

For the next 30 days of APRIL.... 1. Start going to the gym. 2. Start drinking more water. 3. Eat homemade food. 4. Go to bed early. 5. Invest in knowledge. 6. Protect your peace at all costs. 7. Remove every distraction. 8. Switch from consumer to producer. 9. Build a personal brand. You have 9 months left. DON'T WASTE IT.

At least 5 Pages a day. Start small.

I think it's because people expect to log on once a day for 5 minutes and be fluent in no time. Also speaking reading and writing use different parts of the brain so if you are only doing one it's not going to fix the rest. Overall it works, but it needs real life practice also to be fluent.

@earn_learnROE Yes! That’s one of the reasons I asked, to understand better others experiences. I honestly don’t understand what’s wrong with $DUOL, they have everything, they’re expanding in the right way, yet it seems like everyone dislikes it.

@Ellis_Wilder_ Exactly story is what gives numbers purpose. Each tool has a role, but that doesn't mean they cant be used together.

@earn_learnROE Numbers tell you where you have been but story tells the world where you are going. If you only chase the metrics you are building on rented land.

Your product is not your moat. Your story is your moat. Competitors can steal your code in a week. They cannot steal your reputation in a lifetime.
