@thewizardofaug the bass player (wrote their hits) was into classical guitar and pulled influence from some really interesting places. the main chord sequence in that track is basically a flamenco progression

@iloveindustrial They’re the punk band that had the sense to steal from Desmond Dekker and that makes them my favorite for the era. I’d put Xray Spex, The Plasmatics, the Killing Joke, and the Birthday Party up there too, above the other greats but under the Clash

i don't like the MC5 and other kinds of proto punk erasure

@hansumsquidward RHCP (and Green Day, incidentally) robbed themselves of a historical reappraisal by doing what they had to do to stay relevant into the 2000s they both got a lot closer to Matchbox 20 than anyone else from the mid 90s

my hot take is that red hot chili peppers are a good band and the slander they receive should be directed towards like smashing pumpkins or whatever 90s alt rock bands are in again for some reason

I've taken a few of my old, first releases off streaming, permanently. Because I dislike them. They will always be available on my bandcamp though, if you care about them for some reason. I'd reccomend purchasing from my bandcamp regardless, it helps me make more stuff. And live.

@EdgarJa31750866 @ChloeNumberIII the latter, it’s the hardest part of the movie to watch Evil Dead veers towards humor enough that the the second and third movies leaned into it, but that scene, you’re not gonna mistake it for comedy
