Since my last post about fixing my HVAC capacitor ruffled so many feathers, here's another one... We used to own a Mercedes GL450. The front right air suspension failed, so I took it to a shop. Quote: $3,300. I ordered the complete air strut online for under $200, spent about 6 hours in the garage with a couple of floor jacks and basic hand tools, and fixed it myself. Was it more involved than replacing an HVAC capacitor? Absolutely. Did it require learning something new? Yep. That's the point. We've convinced too many people they're incapable of fixing anything. A little research, the right tools, and a willingness to learn can save you thousands of dollars. Know your limits. Work safely. But don't outsource every problem just because someone told you it's "too difficult or too dangerous."

We've shipped a Subscriptions Health Check tool giving every merchant visibility into renewal states — plus a full account of what we investigated, what we found, and what we're changing going forward. buff.ly/u4CtA9d
