Films like this are exactly why we go to the theater—to feel like a little kid again along with hundreds of silent strangers (Reading IMAX crowds remind me of Kendall Square crowds). Really enjoyed it. Gosling was terrific per usual. It’s always nice to leave the show with a smile on your face.

@Str8cashhomee Every shot grinds dirt + sand into the fibers, which turns the mat into sandpaper. That abrasive mix is what chews up wedges faster and also breaks down the mat itself. So yeah…you’re basically hitting off a dirty scouring pad over time, not clean turf.

Here are a few tips: 1.Clean them every round (wet towel + brush — most “wear” is just dirt) 2.Use the right brush (nylon or brass > aggressive steel) 3.Skip groove sharpeners (short-term fix, long-term damage) 4.Keep them dry and protected (prevents breakdown) 5.Don’t overdo mat practice (fastest way to wear grooves out)

I base QBs off of talent. A player who can make any throw at any given point in a game. Mendoza is not one of them. I think if he gets to his full potential he will be as good as Jared Goff (which is pretty good). But he will never be a successful NFL QB (just as Jared Goff has not been one). Winning in college does not matter in the slightest for nfl talent. Mahomes wasn’t a winner in college, Josh Allen wasn’t a winner in college, Lamar wasn’t a winner in college, Herbert wasn’t a winner in college. Burrow is quite literally the only outlier from above (can make any throw on the field).

Hot take: Fernanda Mendoza doesn’t have the talent to be a successful NFL starting QB. My opinion is that he’s simply the best option this year in a very extremely weak QB class and the Raiders are just desperate to make money.
