@fatimathefatima @joshboak It says "Treasury’s inspector general began the audit before Democratic lawmakers asked for it." and "Democratic Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Ron Wyden of Oregon led the push for the inspector general office’s inquiry", so I'm curious how this can both be true

Treasury's Office of Inspector General on Friday said it was launching an audit of the security controls for the federal government's payment system, after Democratic senators raised red flags about the access provided to Elon Musk's DOGE. w/@joshboak apnews.com/article/treasu…

@elonmusk I would love the opportunity to be considered to carry your vision for Twitter as its CEO.

@sephr Does it have something to do with the fact that the private class fields are only accessible from inside a class declaration?

Why does TypeScript still ship with fake private class fields? This should have been deprecated once JavaScript got native private class fields. TypeScript's "private" class fields are literally implemented as public fields. No joke.

@MalwareJake @sephr This is exactly why universal absentee ballots were a terrible idea, it conflates those who didn't ask to vote from those who need it to vote.

As someone who served and had to vote absentee, this is absolutely unconscionable. Only someone who believes the military is full of "suckers" and "losers" would try to deny the very people protecting *your* right to vote, checks notes, the right to vote...
Steven Greenhouse@greenhousenyt

WOW -- The Trump campaign challenges the legitimacy of members of the U.S. military voting in Nevada when they've been temporarily transferred from Nevada for military work elsewhere. It accuses them of "criminal voter fraud." washingtonpost.com/politics/trump…

@digitalhen @JanoskoStevo @mikeroman JPEG compression level makes it impossible to distinguish. You can even see the result of that in the white parts of the photo where there is no text printed.

A supporter received ballots for 18 people who do not live at the house he rents in Las Vegas! He doesn’t know any of them. This is a mess!

@digitalhen @mikeroman Hi Nevada voter here. That barcode is a serial number not a USPS address. I just scanned my own ballot. USPS has its own barcode specification that looks completely different.

@digitalhen How much would you like to bet that that is not actually a USPS barcode? I just scanned it and it's revealing a serial number.

Most valuable information is widely accessible. Great books of centuries past are free online. Thinkers of today argue publicly on Twitter. YouTube is a lecture hall that seats millions. Podcasts are private tutors for the masses. A golden age for the self-motivated learner.

@sephr Also it's a bummer that I'm using FileSaver.js as a dependency in my UAV project, so they're gonna have to shut you down too

GitHub just banned open source GPS and drone control software: "GitHub may not be used for purposes prohibited under applicable export control laws, including purposes related to the development, production, or use of […] long range missiles or unmanned aerial vehicles."

@sephr Sadly, serving controlled information or software to a “foreign person” (from the standpoint of the U.S.) anywhere in the world is considered an export to that person’s country, so we can't just block repo access by country.
