I feel incredibly blessed on this thanksgiving. A year ago, I was a college baseball player and senior, lost after finding out I had to get my second elbow surgery. In the past year, God has shown me what can come with patience. After surgery I was supposed to be in a sling for 12 weeks. I pitched in my first game 8 weeks post-op. While I would never let one of my players do this, I had the best season of my career- the risk paid off, ending things on a high note. A year ago I probably had a hundred followers, posting a random article to my medium every once in awhile. I loved baseball and spent everyday learning, but I had no outlet or clue what I was doing. Since then, I joined PLive, I became the director of amateur scouting, I attended the MLB draft combine, I made 50 podcasts and YouTube videos, and wrote countless articles. I’ve met a lot of amazing people along the way, too. I became a graduate assistant at Bushnell University this year, only to be elevated to pitching coach in the fall. I have fought imposter syndrome and anxiety every day, not knowing if I belong in the positions I’m in. My team has responded by giving me all the reassurance I could ever need, in the form of belief. Today, I can take a step back and see all of these blessings in my life, knowing I am right where I belong. I am hungry, and I won’t stop until I get to where I want to be. I know there’s another level I can get to, but for now, I’m just going to watch some football and eat a lot. Happy thanksgiving 🍽
