@Dominos_UK Attempted to order a pizza, "payment unsuccessful" - funds held on card. Tried again via PayPal instead, exact same outcome. £80 now held as pending and unable to complete an order.

If an alt coin isn't positioning itself as a derivative of Bitcoin, then governments can make the case that its assigned monetary value must necessarily be derived from some other means beyond scarcity - namely investors anticipating future cash flows -
