And yes, surprisingly Ecco 1 is not region locked and a Genesis cart will work in a PAL machine and vice versa. They must have forgotten to add that!

@eccoonline For some reason I thought this was involving making the songs from scratch cause lemme tell you....this game taught me quite a bit about how to deal with FM in one side of the spectrum when it comes to the chips registers lol

@eccoonline I have an old retail catalog for international use from sega saying ecco 2 cd had the og ecco included. I got it while working sound and video at a Hills department store.

Fun fact:
There are unused strings in Ecco 2 roughly where various 3D stage definitions are:
FINAL SCORE, ENEMIES, POWERUPS, TIMEUPS
This is further indicative how they were likely intended as bonus stages of sorts initially.

Interesting: Ecco 2 Secret Password is a regular password game normally generates. Only stage ID is set to 63 which causes game to load ending cinematic as a level and override map name with "Secret password is" on the password screen.

@Kamui079 We are from those people that do! Forums is how Ecco community originally started and they are much better suited for the kind of work we do where stuff will stay there and not just float away.
