Ever wondered how a QR code works? No, me neither but it's low-key fascinating. (Warning, there is some extremely nerdy shit here.👇 )

Diffusion models like #DALLE and #StableDiffusion are state of the art for image generation, yet our understanding of them is in its infancy. This thread introduces the basics of how diffusion models work, how we understand them, and why I think this understanding is broken.🧵

Great, practical, guide on how to write a successful library. When people talk about why X is great, most trendy topics are highly overrated and the topics in this post are highly underrated. cbloomrants.blogspot.com/2015/09/librar…

Here's my favorite git feature that no one knows about: You can reference commits using the commit message instead of the hash. The ":/" syntax accepts a regex that matches any part of the commit message, returning the youngest matching commit. #Documentation/revisions.txt-emlttextgtemegemfixnastybugem" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">git-scm.com/docs/revisions…

What tools are you using to show differences in text files and resolve merge conflicts? I need: ☑️ Three-way diff ☑️ Text editing and syntax highlighting ☑️ Git integration ☑️ Keyboard shortcuts My favorite is diffuse. Are there better alternatives? github.com/MightyCreak/di…

Everybody should know about Berkson’s paradox. 👉 When two positive traits are (spuriously) negatively correlated, in a population *selected on these traits*. Examples: 1/ “Handsome men are jerks.” via @anecdatally

Writing tests can often feel like a waste of time... tests let you refactor your code with more confidence, so you can later improve the readability, performance or structure. They also ensure external contributions are correct. tests help your future self a lot, use them!

Writing issues with too much description is nearly as bad as too little. 𐄷 Often the real problem is something completely different then what the reporter spent so long describing. 🤔 One reproducible example is worth 1,000 words. 🖼
