Ye battles a contractor seeking $1 million in damages as the lawsuit trial began today. Over two years after being sued by former contractor Tony Saxon for alleged labor abuses and more, while Saxon worked on Ye's Malibu mansion, the trial started on Monday (Feb. 23) with jury selection. According to the lawsuit Saxon filed in September of 2023, after Ye purchased the beachfront mansion for $57 million back in 2021, Ye and his wife, Bianca Censori, hired Saxon to renovate it. This included gutting the interior and replacing it with all concrete. Saxon said he was made to work 16-hour days. As a result, he said he suffered from exhaustion and had no option but to nap at the property. Saxon once recalled waking up to Ye standing over him saying, "I thought you'd be working." Saxon says he was also made to work in unsafe conditions, but Ye ignored his complaints, even after Saxon was injured on the job. The lawsuit alleges that Saxon also stopped getting paid on time. He eventually confronted Ye about the money and extreme labor requests and they got into a dispute, which led to Ye telling him he was going to fire him, and Saxon leaving. Saxon is suing Ye for disability discrimination, violations of multiple labor codes, unpaid wages and reimbursements and wrongful retaliatory termination and more. "Tony has been waiting two-and-a-half years for his day in court, and he's looking forward to telling his story," Saxon's attorney, Neama Rahmani, said in a statement to USA TODAY. "The public will be able to draw their own conclusions as to who is telling the truth." Both Ye and Bianca Censori are reportedly expected to testify. Last week, the judge reportedly warned the couple about dressing appropriately. XXL has reached out to Ye's team for comment.

In the past three years, Chuckyy has quickly risen as one of the Windy City’s latest drill rap wunderkinds, raking in millions of streams with tracks like “My World,” “We Got Buttons,” “Free Smurk OFNG” and others.
