.@cerebras' IPO is a defining moment for AI infrastructure. Eclipse co-led the company’s Series A a decade ago, backing the belief that AI would require a fundamentally new computing architecture. Today, Cerebras’ wafer-scale systems are powering the next era of AI across research, healthcare, energy, and sovereign infrastructure. Congrats to @andrewdfeldman and the entire @cerebras team on an incredible milestone! Read more from Eclipse Founder and CEO Lior Susan: bit.ly/49I7pxt

Pierre trained Mike Moritz, Doug Leone, and Mark Stevens at Sequoia. Always surprised he isn't studied more.

@honam Thank you for this. Pierre is a legend. Many of us in Silicon Valley owe him an enormous debt. For the mentorship, the conviction, the refusal to compromise on impossibly high standards, and the quiet kindnesses offered with no thought of return.

Cerebras just had the biggest IPO of the year. Founder @andrewdfeldman says the 3 most important things he had to convince investors of while doing the roadshow were that demand for inference is going to 1,000,000x, the GPU isn't the only way to do compute, and that the CUDA moat is overstated. What he said: "Jensen said some time ago on @altcap's podcast that the demand for inference will grow by a 1,000,000x, and nobody believed him. And at the same time, you saw Sam Altman displaying real vision and going out and trying to lock up huge amounts of compute, memory, data centers, and power, because he saw it too." "[We tried] to share what that means — what exponential demand means. And that we're still so early, and yet the demand for AI compute is overwhelming." "The other thing is that there are lots of ways to do this. The GPU isn't the only way. You've got TPUs, Trainium, and us. There are lots of different ways to build a solution here." "And finally — the notion that CUDA is this grand lock-in is overplayed. Gemini 3, which is an excellent model, was trained on TPUs with no CUDA. The Anthropic models were trained on Trainium with no CUDA. Some of the best models, some of the most interesting things are being done without CUDA. And that lock-in might be overplayed." $CBRS

In 2015, we started @EclipseVentures to back the boldest engineers building at the intersection of bits and atoms. In 2016, @andrewdfeldman gave us one of the clearest pitches on a long-term vision I have ever heard in my career. "The GPU architecture is fundamentally limited for AI. We are going to build a wafer-scale chip to replace it. It will take a decade." A decade later, here we are. IPO Day. A few lessons I've learned from our decade as investors in Cerebras: The most important company building happens at the earliest stages. The technical bet, the architectural choices, the key manufacturing partnerships, the first 50 people on the team — all locked in before product-market fit, before revenue, before the capital markets care. Taking the time to get these foundational elements right is what lets you move with velocity later. Talent is a compounding asset. From day one, Cerebras was obsessed with hiring the very best people in the world. Watching Andrew and the team obsess over this was a real lesson. Seeing Pierre and Lior work with the founders to build that team taught me a lot about the role a board member should play early in a company's history. One of the most formative things I've witnessed in venture. They treated every hire like it mattered, because it did. Reputations are forged in the hardest moments, not the best ones. The reason Andrew first pitched Eclipse tells you everything: his several decade relationship with Pierre Lamond. Pierre had been on his board at SeaMicro and stood with him through the toughest stretches of building that company. When Andrew started Cerebras, he was adamant Pierre would be involved. The reputation you build in hard moment is what people remember. This is what brings you the next deal, the next hire, the next round. This is how we try to operate at Eclipse: true partners to founders through the hardest stretches of the journey. It doesn't matter how good your technology is if you don't land the deals. No one remembers the company with the best chip and no customers. The last 24 months at Cerebras have been a clinic in commercial execution. Andrew, the GTM team, and the board (Lior, @ericvishria, and @vassallo) have been on a tear. Thousands of hours on planes to all corners of the world. Late nights. Holidays away from families. Hard decisions made under real uncertainty. Never losing sight of the mission. I've never seen anything like it. Great companies need a differentiated mission and world-changing technical execution — but they also need a shit ton of grit and a refusal to quit. Cerebras has all of it. Eclipse is proud to have been there from the seed with @andrewdfeldman and the team. Watching Lior and Pierre steward this company for the last 10 years has been a masterclass. Congratulations to everyone involved on reaching this milestone!

This IPO illustrates the power of an individual partner over the brand name firm in VC. Pierre Lamond was a partner of both Sequoia and Khosla. But instead of those firms backing Cerebras, it was Eclipse (the firm he joined at the age of 84) that backed this little known chip company, multiple times, in the early years. What a way to wrap up a career (he was born in 1930, same year as Buffett).

"But what that means is that not only can you generate any kernel in TT-Lang, you can take kernels written in other languages targeted to other hardware, like CUDA GPUs, for example, and convert them to TT-Lang in seconds and run on our hardware. So if there ever was a software moat in the AI industry with AI code-gen and tools like TT-Lang, it's been completely demolished." ~Stan Sokorac

Industrial robotics is hitting an inflection point driven by tight feedback loops between AI, deployment, and real-world manufacturing. Today, the @Mind_Robotics team announced $400M in new funding. With this new financing, Mind now has a $1B+ war chest to accelerate scaled industrial deployment and extend its advantage. Congrats to @RJScaringe and the entire Mind team! Excited to share our new @arxiv paper! In this work we demonstrated deterministic trapping of a single ultracold Rb atom only 150-200 nm from a planar photonic integrated resonator, with strong atom-photon coupling, and Purcell-enhanced photon emission, coupled directly to the photonic chip. The key ingredient is a near-surface “crash-cushion” loading mechanism based on an evanescent optical field, enabling efficient capture of individual atoms on a scalable photonic chip. This demonstrates the vast potential of integrated photonic platforms for quantum networks and deterministic atom-photon operations on chip! @arxiv: arxiv.org/abs/2605.09532 #QuantumOptics #QuantumPhysics #Photonics #WaveguideQED #IntegratedPhotonics #QuantumTechnology

Behind the @cerebras office, we keep two big smokers. Long before I was CEO, I was obsessed with BBQ. I used to fire up a smoker behind @FoundationCap's office while we incubated Cerebras and I smoked brisket for our company picnics when we had hundred of people. We have family events four times a year. And among other things we smoke meat. This was at our most recent company party, we did 200 pounds of ribs and 300 chicken thighs. Your company's culture should look like you. It's part of who we are. If you're a sailor, take your team out on a boat. If you love skiing, take them skiing. Include who you are in the company you build.

Protecting the U.S. homeland from ballistic missile and hypersonic threats is a generational mandate. True Anomaly has been selected by the @USSpaceForce for the Space-Based Interceptor Program under Golden Dome for America. Our approach is the same one that has defined True Anomaly from day one: invest at scale, build for production, and bring together private capital, world-class talent, and harness American innovation to execute programs with enormous national security implications. We are honored to work alongside the U.S. Government and the defense industrial base on a mission of this consequence. This is what the nation demands, and True Anomaly is proud to answer.
