1X product head @radbackwards told me the company has cracked the “hands problem” — one of the hardest challenges in robotics.
More on how @1x_tech built a new hand for NEO in @BusinessInsider today.
Ps: Dar said 1X has selected which customers (wouldn’t say how many) will receive NEO this year, more details on shipping coming soon.

Spoke to @kaandogrusoz about why wheels beat legs in the home, how much of Isaac's work is autonomous, and his focus on quality over speed in laundry folding.
@weaverobotics plans to be in 1,000 homes by the end of 2027.

Humanoid startups are raking in billions in funding. But some investors aren’t sold on the legs. My latest for @BusinessInsider:

New: an SF startup has set up more than 100 street-facing cameras across the city, giving it live coverage of areas including SoMa, the Tenderloin, North Beach and the Marina.
It plans to place 900 more cameras across the city's main commercial corridors over the next 6 months.
More about what they’re up to in @BusinessInsider today

.@Apptronik has opened a "Robot Park" in Austin where its Apollo robots practice tasks like loading boxes onto conveyor belts and sorting toys into bins. The robots are mostly being teleoperated.
"Just like you have a factory to build robots, we have a data factory to generate the kind of data we need," CEO @jeffcardn told me. "This is a robot learning playground." More in @BusinessInsider

.@agilityrobotics is headed to Wall Street via spac.
Cofounder Jonathan Hurst told me that company is going the spac route to bring in ex Citigroup exec Michael Klein & his team’s financial expertise to complement Agility’s technical focus.
Klein is a prolific spac-er and has helped take Oklo and Lucid public.
Excited to have a public company to cover on this beat!

I got an early look at Eno last week. @zhou_xian_ took me to a secret room in the Genesis office where a robotic arm pulled off a cloth to reveal Eno folded on the floor. The robot rose up and waved hello! More in my @BusinessInsider story about why Eno doesn’t have legs or a head, and how Genesis plans to conquer the general-purpose robotics market

Genesis AI@gs_ai_
Humanoid robots don't need to look human. Meet Eno, our first general-purpose robot. Not a machine pretending to be human, but intelligence given a body. At Genesis, we’re building a future where robots don’t feel cold or distant, but capable, calm, and ready to help. Available Q4 this year.
