@PhDVoice @PostdocVoice We the students work well when we have a supportive supervisor. But when we feel the supervisor is not supportive, we lose all the interst in the interested things and we simply then can't deliver.

As a supervisor, you are probably the greatest influence on your PhD students’ PhDs, and even careers.
Make sure to be a positive influence because it is not only the right thing to do, but, the higher they ascend, the better it is for your career too.

Anonymous Question:
‘What was your toughest year of the PhD? I’m currently in my first year and struggling at the stage where I don’t understand anything about what I’ll be doing in my project. I don’t really know what I’m doing and it makes me feel like I’m probably the less productive PhD student of my lab’
