I am home after 19 harrowing days in hospital where I stopped breathing after surgery and spent 10 days in the ICU. My hair is growing back patchily after chemo made me bald. I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck and can only walk slowly. That was hard but necessary to remove the cancer in my stomach, so I don’t really have a stomach anymore. My weirdest symptom today is “an impending sense of doom” every time I eat. It’s a thing apparently. I hope that goes away before I develop an eating disorder. Anyway I’m so happy to be alive and with my family again! Thanks to everyone for their support and kind words. ❤️

@MrJamesMay Look good to me. Too often models are far too over weathered!

Tamiya F4F and Airfix PRXIX in 1:48. I tried to give them a faded ‘in service’ look with an airbrush, which hasn’t entirely worked, but they look like a Wildcat and a Spitfire. So I’m happy.

@MrJamesMay Never liked the clipped wing variants myself, just doesn't sit well with the beautiful elipse that is the rest of the wing.

Spitfires became progressively less pretty from the prototype onwards. Braced and ready.

I’m in the ICU because they had to crack a rib, deflate a lung, remove the cancer region and essentially delete my stomach. On the bright side, I’ll never need Ozempic.

@erfmufn Can you plug the charger in to an energy monitoring smart plug and set up an alarm that way?

Went to use the observatory last night and it wouldn’t open! This $50 charger failed which drained the LiON battery that powers the shutter so I assume that’s dead now too. Day on the tools .. hopefully a night on Jupiter. 🛠️

@MBrundleF1 what is the actual point of wet tyres? I can't envisage a situation where they will ever get used currently.

@smorris Generally 250ft, but where you live they go right down to ground level. Have been known to land in the fields around there for years, including the one my model flying club is on.

@erfmufn Bathinov masks for my camera lenses, just investigating a wrench of some sort to undo the saddle clamp bolts on my NEQ6 pro, I sometimes have trouble with gripping the plastic caps on the clamp bolts.

Astrophotographers - what things have you 3D printed that were actually useful? Cable management clips are good. I tried a tilt shift adapter for canon EF but it was too junky to trust a lens on.

@smorris The time i needed to have a phone repaired it was 2-3 weeks. That was a few years ago but I suspect nothing much has changed.

The problem with having the ability to track your phone repair is clicking on the link a few times a day to see if there has been any progress. 1 week later and repair is still pending. 🤦‍♀️🙈

Annoyed tesco click and collect order cancelled at the last minute. Now have to dash to another town to get bits coz I have nothing in
