Lithuanian book smugglers defied Tsarist Russia’s ban on our language in the 19th century. Despite brutal persecution, each year they secretly brought into the country tens of thousands of books in Lithuanian, keeping our language and national identity alive. 🇱🇹

I agree with my colleague and friend @Andrii_Sybiha - this report by the #UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on #Ukraine is indeed groundbreaking. #Russia, the infamous Member of the UN Security Council, is accused of conducting policies that - due to their systematic nature, scale, and gravity - are considered as constituting crimes against humanity. For many in Ukraine, this report states the evident. Ukrainian people need to live through these horrors by the aggressor state every day. However, when it comes to international efforts to bring Russia to justice, this is another major evidence into the case of Russia's accountability. Forced deportations of Ukrainian children, ill-treatment and arbitrary executions of Ukrainian prisoners of war and civilians - nothing will be forgotten, nor forgiven. #Lithuania will not rest until the moment when all those responsible for the crime of aggression against Ukraine and unprecedented war crimes against its people are brought to justice. For this very reason, we were first to complete our internal procedures to join the Special Tribunal in the Hague. In one week, it will be three years since ICC issued first arrest warrants against those responsible for the forced deportations of Ukrainian children. One arrest warrant was issued for Putin himself. It is high time to identify the remaining war criminals inside the Kremlin and outside its walls, and to step up our efforts to  bring them to the Hague.

Glad to welcome participants of the “The LTG Forum on Military Mobility and Resilience” in Vilnius. Effective military mobility and resilient dual-use infrastructure are essential to Europe’s security. Lithuania is investing over 5% of GDP in defence, accelerating strategic infrastructure, and fast-tracking defence industry projects. We must either find a way or make one.

Croatia has refused to authorize the transit of Russian oil through the Adriatic pipeline at the request of Hungary and Slovakia. In Zagreb, it was emphasized that Europe must end its dependence on Russian energy resources. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto, following a meeting with Slovak Economy Minister Denisa Sakova on February 15, called for the transport of Russian oil to be facilitated. "A barrel of oil bought in Russia may seem cheaper to some countries, but it helps finance war and attacks on the Ukrainian people. It is time to put an end to this military speculation," Croatian Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar stated on social media. He added that Croatia is ready to help its partners find alternative solutions within the framework of EU legislation and OFAC regulations. Ukraine Now
