Fantastic to see this work from the @DUK_research funded UNBIASED study published this week from a group including Dr Natalie Darko, the #NIHRLeicesterBRC Director of Inclusion. ➡️📰journals.sagepub.com/doi/epub/10.11… The study examined inequities in access to diabetes technology for children and young people with type 1 diabetes and found that despite free universal access recommended by NICE, significant disparities persist particularly for those from ethnic minority and lower socio-economic backgrounds. The research identified barriers including regional variation, communication gaps, unconscious bias, and limited culturally tailored education. It amplifies the voices of young people, families, and healthcare professionals and calls for meaningful system change so every child can benefit from the best available care. #EquityInHealthcare #T1D #DiabetesTech #HealthInequality @darko_nat

Changes in oestrogen levels influence tendon health, especially around the menopause. Now there's evidence that HRT may help pain and dysfunction.

The Unbiased Study, led by professor May Ng and Dr. Natalie Darko at University of Leicester, is recruiting children to understand barriers to use diabetes technology. Funded by @DiabetesUK

Physiotherapy volunteers will play a leading role in @LondonMarathon's medical services on Sunday. 200+ qualified and student physios led by @liznicholls2012 will be along the course and @UniHertsPhysio students will support athletes with post race massages.
