Honored to participate in this afternoon’s Roxbury Unity Parade. The parade celebrates Roxbury's history, culture and resilience. The parade empowers and provides resources to Roxbury residents through collaboration with city and state agencies, businesses and community partners!

We enjoyed attending a public reading and discussion on "What To The Slave Is the Fourth of July?"sponsored by Roxbury’s Hawthorne Youth & Community Center. Following the reading, neighbors discussed slavery, civil rights, equality & justice. Hawthorne makes Boston a better city!

Thank you @IBA_Boston for inviting us to today’s opening ceremony and community parade for Festival Betances. Puerto Rican history is American history and Villa Victoria’s story is part of America’s story. I’m proud to represent the diverse & compassionate South End neighborhood!

Kristen and I enjoyed attending this morning’s “Meet and Greet” hosted by The Friends of Crite Park in the South End. Thank you to city officials and the friends group for building a park that is welcoming and accessible to the public for recreation, relaxation, and connection!

It was wonderful to attend this morning’s Boston Unity Cup Opening Ceremony in Roxbury. As a former youth sports coach and substitute teacher in our school system,I know how important organized youth sports and physical fitness are to the development of children and young adults.

Please note I am chairing a hearing on leash laws on 7/30 @ 10 am. Residents continue to report concerns regarding off-leash dogs, inconsistent compliance in parks & several dog bite incidents. We must ensure laws are clearly communicated & enforced w/ necessary resources #bospoli

Please note water main flushing in several areas (Nashua St, Kneeland St, Atlantic Ave, Charles St) between 10pm-6am. Process may cause discolored water. @BOSTON_WATER says temporary, not harmful, please contact them with any concerns. #bospoli

Honored to attend a reception this evening to support the exceptional work of Women2Women. This unique program provides promising young women from around the world with the tools, leadership training, cultural awareness and opportunities required to lead.

In Downtown Boston, five people were shot in three separate incidents over the last two weeks. We need more public safety resources in Downtown Boston & to discuss solutions to the violence and drug dealing. Thank you @BOSDowntown. Boston works best when we work together! #bospoli

Honored to endorse and support an outstanding state senator and friend, Nick Collins. Thank you to Senator Collins for always supporting the residents of Boston and providing positive leadership during these challenging times!

Boston Police Officers were shot at. Their cruiser was struck by gunfire. Violence against police officers is never acceptable. Elected officials can’t remain silent. We must address this violence against officers and the dangerous rhetoric we frequently hear. @BostonPatrolmen

I sent the attached letter to @bostonpolice Commissioner Cox.We must address the escalating crime in Downtown Boston. We need increased police presence, zero tolerance for criminal behavior, criminal justice reform & support our police officers.Residents deserve safe neighborhoods!

Proud to join leaders, advocates, & community members @ ADA Day to celebrate 36 yrs of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Thank you to @DisabilityBOS for hosting this event. We must continue advancing accessibility & inclusion because disability rights are civil rights!

Joined wheelchair users, disability advocates, allies & Rep. O'Day at the Rally for Repairs in support of S.2662 & H.4358. Too many wheelchair users wait weeks or months for repairs, leaving them stranded or in unsafe equipment. Disability rights are civil rights!
