Last year Rocco Baldelli had plenty of weapons and sometimes pulled the wrong levers. This year Derek Shelton has nothing to work with, and often isn't pulling any levers that may make sense.

The Twins can talk about the Jax and Duran trade returns being positives and they'd have merit. Doing nothing to backfill a bullpen with no answers was not a necessary part of the equation but they chose it anyways.

It’s really hard to tell how good the #MNTwins will actually be this year They can definitely score some runs and the rotation is good But the bullpen and fielding are just so awful and it’s hard to see how either of them get any better

Tough to watch the Twins today and not think about having Varland or at least someone at the backend of the bullpen you have confidence in to get those final outs. Ober, Taj & Joe Ryan deserved better this weekend.
