Reading through the comments I see it's full of people who've never served a day in their life. I can tell you that the Army is full of these boards/panels/etc. They run the gamut of just Service Members, just experts or just civilians to ones like this that include all 3. These boards can be just for individual Posts (new housing being built so they bring in spouses to give their opinions on counters, flooring etc) all the way up to the Rand Army Spouse Panel and the NMFA going to each installation to speak with Soldier and Spouse representatives chosen from each. We all know this administration is religious. It's not surprising that they'd choose a younger religious person to look into the services currently provided to find out how we can make sure they're covering the whole of life.
