That is correct. People are vain and having things doesn't mean you use those things. The most recent numbers show that 1 in 3 Americans pays for a self-storage unit, while the average home size continues to grow. Which is interesting because at the same time, family size has gone down. Bigger homes, less people in those homes, more storage units being used.

First actual response! But I don't know. People really like to project themselves in a positive manner. I know many people who like to buy books because they will read them one day... but that day has yet to come. Hence my argument that having doesn't = using. In fairness, some do read more because they have the books on hand, but I would say that is the minority as people spend more time on a screen. We have a modest library at home, but my wife and I tend to use a Kindle more than a paper book.

But do most people continue to acquire things they don’t want or use? Some may, but most don’t. People who own and collect books, tend to read them. People who read, tend to be learned
