The event was to inform the public about the future expansion plans. A vote will be held on the new expansion plan in one month, starting next week. Lots of pics in the thread. Pic by Tobias Lindh. - Panasonic says a new and improved version of the 2170 batteries will be produced at a plant in Nevada. They plan to partner with Tesla “sometime during 2024 or 2025” to supply the Tesla Model 3 and Y. - There are reports that Tesla is contemplating sourcing batteries for Megapacks from Samsung SDI Co Ltd. Tesla has not confirmed this. - User Ray4Tesla posted there was a rumor that a Cybertruck would show up in a Tesla China store for a display. Per Elon, “Getting Cybertruck road legal in China would be very difficult, but we could ship some prototypes over for display.” - Tesla ranked second in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study. Study based on 12,000 respondents evaluating information, content, appeal, navigation, and speed. - Elon says new compensation package from Tesla with higher target goals "would be nice." It previously launched Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, CRS-23, IXPE, Transporter-4, Transporter-5, Globalstar FM15, ISI EROS C-3, Korea 425, and seven Starlink missions. The booster landed on droneship Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific Ocean. 22 Starlinks were deployed. - Launch 5 yesterday evening marked SpaceX’s 300th successful launch! Falcon 9 Starlink 6-37 launched from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral, Florida. This was the 12th flight for the first stage booster. It previously launched SES-22, ispace’s HAKUTO-R Mission 1, Hispasat Amazonas Nexus, CRS-27, and seven Starlink mission. The booster landed on droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean. 23 Starlinks were deployed. - At Starbase Booster 12 did another round of cryo-testing. Falcon 9 Starlink 7-11 will launch from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. The booster will land on droneship Of Course I Still Love You in the Pacific Ocean. - Launch 7! Wednesday, 17th of January at 5:11 p.m. ET. Falcon 9, Crew Dragon, Axiom 3 (Ax-3) will launch from Space Launch Complex 39A (SLC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. This is the third mission for the private company Axiom Space. Crew Dragon will bring Ax-3 members Michael López-Alegría (American), Walter Villadei (Italian), Alper Gezeravci (Turkish), and Marcus Wandt (Swedish) to the ISS. The booster will land on Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. - IFT-3! Starship Integrated Flight Test 3 is targeting February. ■ THE BORING COMPANY: At TBC you got to get in the middle of things. Notice the worker poking through the middle of Prufrock. - As reported, the Vegas Loop is expected to expand near UNLV and surrounding areas, including Formula One’s Grand Prix Plaza. The University Center Loop plans call for a dual tunnel system between the Las Vegas Convention Center and land located near UNLV between University Center Drive and Paradise Road. This is where the two Prufrocks are sitting. This was confirmed by Steve Hill, president and CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. - Jeff Roberts flew over Giga Texas before the freeze hit. The Boring Company Prufrock mount is in place with the decline ready. According to the foreign investment policy set by DPIIT in 2 a foreign investor must share complete shareholding details to check if there are any investors from countries sharing a land border with India, like China. - During the SpaceX Company Talk, Elon said SpaceX will soon release a Starlink Mini small enough to fit in your backpack. This seems ideal for camping, road trips, and vacations in remote areas. I like this. ■ X: - X now has a money transmitter license for Utah. Per Elon today, “California and New York take the longest for approval.” - You will soon be able to upload both images and videos in the same post via web. Finally! ■ xAI: N/A… ■ ELON NEWS: - Elon was part of a Spaces with Democratic presidential candidate Dean Phillips. Elon on a new compensation plan. "I am uncomfortable growing Tesla to be a leader in AI & robotics without having ~25% voting control. Enough to be influential, but not so much that I can’t be overturned. Unless that is the case, I would prefer to build products outside of Tesla. You don’t seem to understand that Tesla is not one startup, but a dozen. Simply look at the delta between what Tesla does and GM. As for stock ownership itself being enough motivation, Fidelity and other own similar stakes to me.
