According to Jeff McLane, the expected return for AJ Brown is a 1st and 2nd or 3rd round pick. Teams will want the 1st to be in 2028, which could drive the additional compensation to be a 2nd in 2027. #Eagles

@anymanfitness This is 100% true at our local high school. Not only do the kids have to play club/AAU but those who play on specific teams identified by the HS coaches have a leg up over other kids. Football is the only sport currently immune from this.

Bad news, dude:
If your kid doesn’t play travel/AAU they have no chance of playing varsity in high school.
Only exceptions would be small, rural schools without many players to choose from.
Any decent sized high school, every kid on varsity plays travel.

The Bruins have the potential 6th overall pick, promising prospects, 16mil in cap. On top of all of that they have a top 3 goalie, a top 3 forward and a top 10 D-man all in their prime. Sweeney had his chance and failed, someone new has all the tools in front of them.

This team wasn’t supposed to make the playoffs. In the preseason, most felt it’d sit near the bottom of the East. It was a successful first year for Marco Sturm. I’m not moving the goalposts. Boston was never in the mix to contend this season. Going in the right direction.

A month ago or so, I'd say Boutte would be part of the Brown trade. But, I don't see that being the case now.
The Eagles have Smith, Lemon, "Hollywood," Wicks, and Moore. Boutte's in a contract year. He's going to want targets and I don't think that'd happen in Philly, especially since Wicks mirrors what Boutte could bring.
Now, could Philly acquire Boutte and spin him? Maybe. But, I'd be surprised if he's part of that deal.
