@LScumpieru That's a great point! Students definitely won't want to post something they find embarrassing and are not proud of. If the whole world can see it, they'll make sure it's great!

A3: I always found that Ss did better on assessments where they felt others would see their work - blogging, Google Sites, Flipgrid, Hangouts, Projects with other states/countries, etc.. When the audience was not just me the teacher, it mattered more. #formativechat #itsaboutthem

A2: Standard tests are boring and don't test the true knowledge of certain topics. My English teacher always gave us a list of options for how we could demonstrate that we understood what we were learning and I hope to follow a similar method of assessment! #formativechat

@educcmpellan Standard tests are there to show people what things were like...in a bubble. Assessment shows what Ss know in real time...they are relevant! #formativechat

R3: Whenever students have a say in what they learn about, how they are assessed, etc., they feel more invested and excited about learning. Giving students a voice in the classroom is so important! #formativechat

@MarianaGSerrato This is a great way to give the students some autonomy in the classroom! I think everyone would agree that people are more invested when they get to choose what they partake in.

@ElisaBostwick Yes! I had so many socratic seminars in high school, and I really feel like they helped me find my voice!

As a future teacher, I know that critical thinking is a vital skill for my students to learn. Critical thinking can be applied in so many ways. One way I hope to implement all of those skills is through team debates! It will help with teamwork/communication, etc. #formativechat

@HelloMissGeorge I think performance-type presentations really help develop communication skills! Those opportunities for creativity push students to make/present their best work! #formativechat

@TeachBloom I've always loved Pinterest and it has so many great ideas on there! It'll be really beneficial once we start teaching in a classroom and need help finding ideas

A resource I really enjoy is Pinterest. When I'm not sure where to start with my lesson plan, it's very convenient to see what other teachers are doing for inspiration. #educW200chat

A2: I really enjoy using Nearpod because it allows the students to learn new topics in a classic presentation setting while opening them up to an interactive presentation setting. #educw200chat

R2: My favorite tool/technology that I've used so far this semester is Smore. It was a great way to format a newsletter in order to stay in touch with parents. If I used the same format every week but changed the content, it would really cut down on time. #educW200chat
