@vj5c07 @fosdaneDC Got it. Riggs-Michigan segment (especially north of Sargent) seems like a possibility even by standard metrics - great place to focus on curb to curb changes with schools, a library, park/green space, retail, Metro access right there.

@ef_caldwell @fosdaneDC It diminishes the further north you go per DDOT’s own data they don’t seem to readily believe/value. It’s around 25k by NYA, 22k from Vista to RIA, 17k from RIA to Michigan, 14k from Michigan to Riggs.

Interim Director Kershbaum just stated that a road diet is not viable on South Dakota Ave. I’m going to be very motivated to find out why not. CC @fosdaneDC

Pro cycling fans: Hubs & middle kid (11yo, the one who climbed Mt Ventoux in 2022) are planning 3 days in Flanders to see the E3 race, ride some of the classic routes/climbs and generally see cycling history Any advice - Must sees, where to stay, getting around, where to ride?

@BikeGillian Also since Oudenaarde is basically on the Tour of Flanders route, it's easy to stay there and ride a lot of the course, do the classic climbs (Paterberg, Kwaremont etc).

The East Coast Greenway’s current route is an in-development, work-in-progress that connects the completed, traffic-free segments of the Greenway. High-stress segments do exist on the interim route, and are now outlined ⬇️ 🔗greenway.org/trips/high-str… #PedestrianSafetyMonth

@SC_Cycling @Pflax1 That region does include Norfolk (Elizabeth River Trail) and much of the Peninsula (VA Capital Trail) plus there are new trail sections in Suffolk & the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail is incredibly popular so if they are counting trail bike usage as trips, it is a bit less surprising.
