@spswgreg @LorenzoLolli28 @Aspire_Academy 🎓 Grateful also to my viva examiners, Professor Barry Drust and Dr David Low - it was an honour to meet them and discuss my research during the examination. Excited for what comes next - to keep bridging science and practice in football and beyond. ⚽️📘

PhD ✅ 🎓 What a journey - full of challenges, learning, and growth. Balancing full-time work across Qatar, the Emirates, Greece, Cyprus, the USA, and Saudi Arabia made it even tougher, but so rewarding. @LJMU @LJMUFootball

🚫 Jogging laps & static stretches? That’s not a real soccer warm-up anymore. 🎯 A proper soccer warm-up means: ✅ Pre-activation to wake up key muscles ✅ Specific warm ups: TECHNICAL - FUNCTIONAL - TACTICAL 📕 Find out more in this course: complementarytraining.com/courses/what-d…

@DeasunO @davecarolan @SimonBrundish @maloneperform You should read more on: 1. Session types (different muscle tension). 2. Relative max intensity 3. Levels of concentration 4. How we train sub and sub sub principles in our warm ups (behaviors) 5. How to alternate spaces to achieve the physiological emphasis of each session

@efthimis400 @davecarolan @SimonBrundish @maloneperform Every session contains accelerations, decelerations, COD, kicks, strides, runs and often sprints. All energy systems are in use all the time. This results in accumulated load with limited time to recover. Sorry it doesn’t make sense to me. I respect your choice however.

Here is a week plan that is used by many high level football teams. It was recently shared by @maloneperform - Question why is speed placed on MD-2 after two mod/high intense days. Why train 5 days in a row leading up to a game ? I always struggled to like this model. Pros ?

@DeasunO @davecarolan @SimonBrundish @maloneperform “the target is to overload a different physical component and energy system every day providing sufficient recovery time in between. All these training days have their own training load (there is not one peak during the week, every day is the relevant peak!)”

@efthimis400 @davecarolan @SimonBrundish @maloneperform Hi Efthymios, thanks for replying. I have studied T.P. and what is proposed still goes against the principles of training. It is also dated in the context of the increased match demands. A day off would be so much more beneficial. How do you target speed on -3.

It’s been a sheep mentality @DeasunO . Personally speed exposure the furthest point from the next match and furthest from the last, that’s safe from a freshness, fitness and fatigue pov. For me MD-4 or Tuesday! As for the rest of it… it’s a framework, and who doesn’t like a framework. Takes out a lot of the need for thinking for yourself 😝

@DannyagrDanny @TacticalPad @tacticalpedia Thank you for the comment. The set up is not area specific. It could be anywhere. At the day, just happened to do it in that area, it didn’t have to do anything related with attacking the box. I hope that answer your question.

@efthimis400 @TacticalPad @tacticalpedia Great, just a question or probably and adjustment I will do, because I love the exercise. Isn’t more realistic if you go the other way? you writing Build-up but you ara attacking the box, I will go the other way! Good stuff 🙏🏻⚽️
