Texas has now topped 8 million votes heading into today's final day of in-person early voting, according to the Texas Division of Elections. That is about 1 million votes behind the 2020 presidential election cycle going into the final day of in-person early voting.

in total, houston (harris county) voters cast 1,232,960 ballots during the 12-day early voting period (that's in-person + mail). we have 2,693,055 registered voters here. the other 1,460,095 people: polls will be open 7am-7pm on tuesday, election day.

as of tonight, houston (harris county) voters have cast 1,012,750 ballots (that's in-person + mail). we've got 2,693,055 registered voters here. the other 1,680,305 of you have only two days of early voting left, then election day.

no matter how many elections i cover or how demented the discourse becomes im still going to get a little choked up thinking about how elections are this major community effort and the people who run the polling locations are your neighbors who decided to help out so you can vote

Hi quick media literacy on breaking news — maybe it’s helpful rn. If you see a variances in coverage, there are many reasons for that. 1) outlets have dif. standards for how to address speculation on crime scenes (ie what to say ocurred before law enforcement confirm) 🧵

I always felt Houston was so unified during a storm. We came together during Harvey, Ike and others. With Beryl, I don’t see that. Anyone else think that?

My beloved sister Maria passed away last week after a brief hospital stay. The days since her passing have been a mixture of grief, numbness and utter exhaustion. The days spent at the hospital were difficult as we waited and hoped she would recover. (1/12)
