@Walodja1987 We like it bc its an innovative protocol with great applications. But everyone hates the taxes and the DAO making decisions that go against their customers best interest.

@eggs_eth I don’t understand how people can like it if they moment you stop paying taxes, your name and identity are gone. Worst case, it’s registered by someone else and incoming payments will be silently redirected to a stranger. I truly don’t get it.

Which delegate proposed to increase renewals and eliminate grace period? We should revoke his ens voting rights.

ENS revenue is falling down a cliff in 2026. It will go to zero if we decide to leave. Lower those 3-4 character fees.

If you think that $12 for ENS is too much then you better fucking agree that $640 for 3 characters is too much and must be lowered

@8INK5 It would open a world of utility and access to regular internet. The domains would have web2 and web3 capabilities. Their value would increase.

The real reason #ENS must raise the price for 5-characters is because although there are millions registered, they provide less than 8% of ENS monthly revenue. Quite unfairly, the 3-4 character higher fees account for over 92% of ENS monthly revenue.👀

@maxidoteth @0170_eth They should focus on reducing 3-4 characters fees and not on giving random discounts for future years. Most 3-4L users will not commit to multi-year registrations anyway bc its too expensive.

@eggs_eth @0170_eth this would be nice indeed, but is by no means required. every single 3/4ch holders knew what they signed up for and we’re not entitled to anything and you can’t say the goal is to max extract when what’s proposed will diminish revenue, makes zero sense

whether we agree or not on the 5ch price increase, the timing of the proposal, etc… let’s not spin it as if the team was looking to extract as much as possible, or whatever dumb takes i’ve seen here the DAO is sitting on a $136m+ treasury ENS won’t go broke anytime soon

@maxidoteth @0170_eth 3-4 character holders should get a discount for the years we have paid already. Or simply give a credit to extend your names based on what you paid in the past. If they don't do that, then its clear that their goal is simply to extract maximum revenue.

@garypalmerjr I find $12 is cheap for 5L and would happily pay it. Raising the price disincentivizes people who squat on thousands of domains like yourself.

@CryptoIgzeee I like this proposal. ENS should give back at some point and reward their most loyal customers

@INVEST0RS Some options: 1) Lower fee for renewals 2) Lower fee for both the registration and renewals 3) Have a max limit accumulated fee (for example $1K) and then pay $5 renewal after that.

@ShieldedRails Thats a bad solution. You cant create a business or identity only to have it taken away. That is the whole point of web3.

@eggs_eth No way to not have it that way. There is no centralized identity check to limit squatting en masse

ENS should reduce fees for 3/4 characters and digits. Listen to your community.

@ShieldedRails But putting a limit is not ownership. That is called renting. And it hurts everyone.
