Had a blast animating these shots!

Here's a a little WIP acting study I put together over the past two days. Hopefully I'll find some time to polish it up.

Got inspired by Alysa Liu 's beautiful performance and animated this 🌸 I animated the character in Maya, then animated the dress in 2D.

a good way to identify the pivot point in a spin like this is by looking at the character’s base of support. typically the feet in contact with the ground. as the pose, balance and weight distribution change, the body adjusts around that pivot throughout the movement.

In my experience, the eyes often carry more weight in facial animation than the mouth or cheeks. I try to give the eyes a little more attention so they feel right.

what a lot of people are unaware of is how much study goes into becoming an animator Acting is terribly hard and is such an incredible craft! But an animator doesn't only have to understand acting, they also have to understand how to create this acting physically (1/4)

Animating takes time, but it's rewarding.
