🌬️ After reconnecting our customers following #StormÉowyn, we’ve now deployed over 120 Utility Arborists, Switchers, and Linespersons to support NIE Networks in challenging conditions where thousands of their customers remain off supply. 👷 While looking after our customers is our #1 priority, we look after each other too.

⚡ We’ve sent 164 specialist staff and 50 generators to help restore power to people without electricity after Storm Éowyn. ⛈️ Our teams from the South East and East of England travelled to Northern Ireland and Scotland to support the national recovery effort after one of the most destructive storms in a decade. 🌲 Our skilled staff and contractors are collaborating with local teams to gain access to repair sites and carry out repairs to help affected communities.

💨 With #StormÉowyn bringing wind gusts of up to 90mph, these extreme conditions mean that it’s simply not safe right now for our teams to climb and carry out repairs to damaged poles and overhead lines. However, we still do all we can to restore your power safely and quickly. 🔁 One of the ways we can do this is by remotely re-routing the affected supplies to different parts of the network – this is a process we call “switching” and it can be done by engineers without the need to travel to the actual fault location. ⚠️ It’s important to note that we can’t restore all supplies by switching – when there’s a major fault we usually still need to carry out repairs on site. 🎥 Watch this short video to learn more:
