I’m only now catching up on the details for the Chicago Tribune Strike happening tomorrow but wow what offensive and downright insulting offers from Alden Capital for compensation for their journalists in 2024 full solidarity with @CTGuild tomorrow and forever

Or come lend support in person. We’ll rally outside the Tribune Freedom Center from 9 to 12 tomorrow. Alden received $150 million to move the printing centers out of Chicago for a casino to be built. Alden is making money. They just don’t want to share it with journalists.

Chicago Tribune journalists are going on strike for 24 hours tomorrow for the first time in history. @CTGuild has bargained for a fair contract since 2018. Alden responded by offering functional pay cuts & fewer benefits despite the Trib's profits. We're done playing games.
