@ArturSmiarowski The replayablity and self improvement is definetly the core of rougelikes/lites. I think top down, turn based and strategy are no longer grossly associated with rougelikes in discussions today tho
English

@einav23abc You described the replayability with the self-improvement part, so half of the Roguelike design. I think it's fine if you don't mind the rest, but for future context, when I'll refer to Roguelike design, I'll mean the full thing. 😉
English

@ArturSmiarowski Your definition of rougelike will probably fit the term "classic rougelike" more
English

@ArturSmiarowski That may have been correct a while ago. But I feel the definition nowadays is more in the lines of:
- sessions do not affect difficulty of other valid sessions in any way shape or form
- you must learn the mechanics and practice in order to beat the game

@ExodusPgame @Jonathan_Blow thats beacuse Google bought Waze and are now slowly killing it in order to get traffic on Google Maps
English

I feel like Google Maps is in serious trouble. Suddenly it is *incredibly* buggy, basic stuff that worked fine for years now suddenly stopped working and at least some of it has been broken for weeks. It feels like the thing where a project gets handed over to people who have no idea what's going on.

@lorenschmidt Israel does not target legitimate journalists, it has no reason or incentive to do so. Some "journalist" are simply spokepersons of hamas (which they do target); The same organization that threatens journalist's families in order to get a story they made up on the news.
English

the state of Israel tends to publicly say that it does not have a policy of targeting journalists, but not only is there evidence to the contrary, it has also itself admitted to targeting journalists on multiple occasions. there is a paper trail. jewishcurrents.org/israels-war-on….
