Striking lecturers from the City of Glasgow College (CoGC) Welding and Fabrication department are to continue with their programme of strike action. The lecturers are currently engaged in a programme of strike action over Health and Safety issues in the department at the college’s Riverside campus, including the lack of adequate safety measures to protect staff and students from welding fumes, which are known to be carcinogenic. eis.org.uk/latest-news/we…

City of Glasgow College lecturers from the welding and fabrication department took their first day of strike action today in a dispute over unsafe working and learning conditions. Lecturers and students are being exposed to welding fumes – which are known to be carcinogenic – without adequate health & safety measures being put in place. Where exposure exists, safety MUST exist✊
